SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – A Sarasota County school bus crashed into a fallen stop sign this morning, causing damage to the bus but thankfully resulting in no injuries.
The incident occurred around 8:33 a.m. at the intersection of Aquila and Adriatic Streets. The bus, carrying a school board employee and one student, was traveling north on Aquila Street and attempting a left turn onto Adriatic Street.

A stop sign, damaged during Hurricane Milton, was leaning over the roadway and was struck by the bus as it made the turn. The impact shattered six windows on the bus.
Neither the driver nor the two passengers were injured in the crash. The student’s parent has been notified.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
