In a surprising turn of events, The Onion, a satirical news publication, has emerged as the successful bidder for Alex Jones’ controversial platform, Infowars.
The acquisition comes after a bankruptcy auction, where the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, who were awarded billions in defamation damages against Jones, backed the purchase.
“The dissolution of Alex Jones’ assets and the death of Infowars is the justice we have long awaited and fought for,” Robbie Parker, whose daughter Emilie was killed in the 2012 shooting in Connecticut, said in a statement provided by his lawyers.

Jones was broadcasting live on X Thursday and said, “Democrats Are On Their Way To The Building To Shut InfoWars Down Now.”
The exact purchase price has not been disclosed. Jones, who has been broadcasting live from the Infowars studio, expressed his disappointment and plans to challenge the sale legally.
The Onion, known for its humorous and satirical take on news, has yet to reveal its plans for Infowars. It remains to be seen how the satirical news outlet will utilize the platform and its extensive archive of conspiracy theories.
