SARASOTA COUNTY, FL. – Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman is pleased to announce Corrections Lieutenant Jay Doyle received the 2021 Florida Model Jail Standards (FMJS) Team Leader of the Year Award from the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA).
Awarded annually, FSA honors select FMJS correctional personnel from across the state. On February 24, during the FSA Executive Leadership Conference in St. Augustine, Corrections Lieutenant Jay Doyle was recognized for his efforts as FMJS coordinator at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility. Doyle has served with the sheriff’s office for nearly 30 years and took on the role of FMJS coordinator in 2016.
As a team leader, he is tasked with ensuring daily compliance with accreditation standards and state statutes as well as preparing facility inspections throughout the year. Notably, Doyle assisted Lee County’s Corrections Administration team in conducting their annual inspection last year.
