SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – Blackburn Point Bridge has reopened after malfunctions closed it Sunday.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was asking the public to avoid vehicle and pedestrian traffic to the Blackburn Point Rd. swing bridge currently.
The swing bridge malfunctioned and crossing over the intercoastal waterway to gain access to and from north Casey Key came to a halt.
All traffic was asked to find alternative routes such as Albee Rd. to gain access to south Casey Key Rd. Road and Bridge personal are aware of the issue and will be responding to evaluate the malfunctioning of the bridge.
