VENICE, Fla. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is currently assisting the Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD), Venice Police Department (VPD), and the Florida Forest Service to contain numerous brush fires at Caspersen Beach in Venice.

VENICE, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is currently assisting the Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD), Venice Police Department (VPD), and the Florida Forest Service to contain numerous brush fires at Caspersen Beach in Venice. 

The fires may have been set intentionally, deputies say.

According to deputies, one possible suspect is detained at this time.
