Cristian Manuel Rodriguez Nunez, 28, of Sanford, received a federal prison sentence of 10 years and 5 months for his involvement in a 2019 armed robbery of a T-Mobile store in Oviedo, Florida.

Rodriguez Nunez, who had been a fugitive for several years, pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act Robbery and brandishing a firearm during the crime.

On August 10, 2019, Rodriguez Nunez and three co-defendants robbed the store, with Rodriguez Nunez pointing a gun at an employee and forcing them to empty the safe.

The group then fled with over $20,000 in stolen electronics. Thanks to a tracking device placed in the loot bag, law enforcement apprehended three of the robbers, but Rodriguez Nunez evaded capture until October 2023, when he was located in New York.

The other three defendants have already been sentenced for their roles in the robbery, with sentences ranging from 5 to 11 years. Rodriguez Nunez’s sentencing concludes this case, which was investigated by the FBI, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
