Sanford Drug Dealer Sentenced To 15 Years In Federal Prison

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 23-year-old Sanford man, Jonathan Nicola, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and weapons charges.

Nicola pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute two kilograms of fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

On January 11, 2024, law enforcement officers observed Nicola retrieving a package in St. Cloud. A subsequent high-speed chase ensued, during which Nicola engaged in reckless driving behavior.

Upon his arrest, authorities discovered a significant amount of fentanyl, a digital scale, and a loaded handgun in his vehicle.

The DEA, St. Cloud Police Department, and Florida Highway Patrol collaborated on this investigation.
