Russia has accused Ukrainian forces of launching a significant cross-border attack into the Kursk region, marking what could be one of the largest Ukrainian incursions into Russian territory since the war began.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian troops attempted to breach Russian defenses along the border on Tuesday, utilizing a combination of ground forces and aerial attacks. Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the alleged incursion as a “large-scale provocation” and accused Kyiv of targeting civilian infrastructure.

While Ukrainian authorities have not officially commented on the claims, Russian officials and military bloggers have reported intense fighting near the town of Sudzha, located just a few miles from the border. The extent of the attack and any potential damage or casualties remain unclear.

This alleged incursion comes amid heightened tensions between the two countries, with both sides accusing each other of escalating the conflict. The international community has expressed concern over the situation, calling for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the ongoing war.
