Russia has accused the United States of being responsible for a Ukrainian missile attack on the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula, which killed several civilians, including children. The attack targeted a beach area in the city of Sevastopol, causing widespread damage and casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the attack was carried out using US-supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles, and that US specialists had provided targeting information based on satellite data.
The ministry further stated that four of the five missiles were intercepted, but one detonated in mid-air, causing the casualties.

The US has denied any involvement in the attack and reiterated its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The State Department called on Russia to de-escalate tensions and engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict.
Ukraine has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack, but Ukrainian officials have celebrated the strike as a victory against Russian aggression.
This latest escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has heightened international concern and raised fears of a wider regional conflict. The United Nations has called for an immediate ceasefire and for both sides to return to the negotiating table.
