HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A routine traffic stop on Thursday, resulted in the arrest of two individuals for drug and firearm offenses, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Deputies from the Interdiction Criminal Apprehension Team made the arrests following a stop on US Highway 41 near Cockroach Bay in Ruskin.

Around noon, deputies pulled over a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Keyonna Cokley, was found to have a suspended license, expired vehicle registration, and illegal window tint.
During the investigation, deputies discovered eight pounds of marijuana and a loaded firearm inside the vehicle.
The passenger, 23-year-old Larryeion Woodard, who is currently on felony probation, admitted to owning the firearm. Both Cokley and Woodard were arrested without incident.

Sheriff Chad Chronister praised his deputies’ actions, stating, “This is another example of our deputies’ commitment to proactive law enforcement and keeping our community safe. Thanks to their vigilance, a dangerous firearm and a significant amount of drugs are now off the streets.”
The duo now faces multiple charges, as authorities reaffirm their dedication to holding offenders accountable and ensuring the safety of Hillsborough County residents.
