POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently demonstrated that a combination of good police work and a bit of luck can lead to successful arrests.
On Friday night, August 9th, a deputy noticed a motorcycle without a license plate on Rifle Range Road. The driver, later identified as 27-year-old Jonathon Haas, attempted to flee but got his motorcycle stuck in the grass. He then tried to run but was apprehended by two deputies.

Haas was arrested on several charges, including fleeing to elude, resisting, driving while license suspended/revoked, driving without proper endorsement, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
But the story doesn’t end there.
The deputies recognized Haas and knew his girlfriend, 30-year-old Karley Cox, had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.

Haas claimed they had broken up, and he didn’t know her whereabouts. However, a deputy spotted a GPS on Haas’ motorcycle showing an address in Auburndale.
Deputies went to the address and, lo and behold. found Karley Cox.
Both Cox and Haas were arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.
