HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla – A road rage incident in Hillsborough County resulted in the arrest of Rasool Hakeem, 37, who admitted to firing his weapon during the altercation. Hakeem faces charges of Attempted Murder, Shooting At or Into a Vehicle, and more.
The incident left a 16-year-old female passenger with non-life-threatening injuries.
“To discharge your firearm at another vehicle is simply reckless,” said Sheriff Chronister. “This suspect had no regard for human life during this completely avoidable interaction.”
The incident occurred near 4202 South Falkenburg Road on August 27, 2024. Two northbound drivers engaged in a road rage altercation, during which Hakeem fired shots at the other vehicle, striking the teenage passenger.
“There is simply no excuse to endanger a life because of a disagreement with another driver,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “There is absolutely no reason for an innocent 16-year-old to be in the hospital because of a road rage incident.”
