WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven woman is facing serious charges after a road rage incident escalated into a violent assault.
On September 25th, 2024, Chaniese Davis, 32, was a passenger in a vehicle when she became agitated with the driver’s speed. Davis, who was in possession of a firearm and illegal drugs, reacted aggressively, leading to a confrontation that endangered multiple individuals.

Upon arriving at her residence, Davis physically assaulted one of the passengers, then proceeded to attack the driver, striking her repeatedly. The assault escalated when Davis brandished her firearm, using it to threaten and physically harm the victim.
Davis stepped on the victim’s face to pin her to the ground and put the gun to the victim’s head, stating, “If you don’t stop fighting me, s*** gonna get real.”
Two other passengers who attempted to intervene were also assaulted by Davis.
The victims eventually managed to escape and contact law enforcement. Davis fled the scene but was apprehended on October 2nd, 2024, by Winter Haven Police.

Davis is a convicted felon and is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
“Our officers quickly attempted to locate this suspect at the scene while assisting the three victims with medical aid at the same time,” said Chief of Police Vance Monroe. “She thought she could get away with these crimes, but our detectives were not going to let her go. They worked methodically to hunt her down and get her locked up.”
