The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier this afternoon in Riverview.

Riverview Bank Robbery Sought by Hillsborough County Sheriff

RIVERVIEW, Fla. -The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier Wednesday afternoon in Riverview. 

At approximately 1:42 p.m. on October 28, 2020, a suspect entered the Fifth Third Bank located at 13304 U.S. Highway 301 South in Riverview. The suspect, a male, approached the counter and handed the teller a note implying that he had a weapon and demanded cash. The teller provided an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the bank with the note in hand and fled on foot in an unknown direction. The teller told deputies a weapon was not seen or displayed. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier this afternoon in Riverview.

“Thankfully, nobody was injured during the course of this incident,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Weapon or not, this individual not only stole money from the bank, but he also instilled fear into the lives of employees there. I’m urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious this afternoon to call us immediately.”

Deputies are searching for a medium complexion male, who is about 5’10” tall and 190-210 pounds.  Anybody with information is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
