PLANT CITY, Fla. – Plant City Police Department detectives seek tips from the public in an early morning shooting.

According to police, on November 19, 2022, the victim was outside his apartment building in the Madison Park Apartment complex on Village Park Road in Plant City.

At approx. 2:00 a.m., he was shot by unknown suspect(s) and died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The victim was identified as Octavia “Tay” Canty Jr., 19 years old. A witness reported seeing a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect(s) involved in the Homicide of Octavia Canty Jr.
