HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Captain was arrested on Tuesday and charged with 28 counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Following an investigation, the HCSO’s Internet Predator Unit served a search warrant at a residence in Hillsborough County. During the search, detectives discovered multiple electronic devices containing numerous images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

Dennis Dilorenzo, 58, was subsequently arrested and charged with 28 counts of Possession of Child Pornography 10 or more Images and Content of Images. Authorities also confirmed that Dilorenzo is currently an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida.
Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his outrage at the allegations.

“To know that someone in a position of public trust, someone who once wore a uniform to serve, would exploit the most innocent among us is beyond reprehensible,” said Sheriff Chronister. “Let me be clear: if you possess or distribute child pornography, we will find you. Our Internet Predator Unit will continue to work around the clock, using every tool at our disposal to find you, arrest you, and hold you fully accountable for your sickening actions.”
