A left-wing Seattle middle school teacher led students in a hate campaign directed at the Florida-based Moms for Liberty.
The conservative website Daily Signal reported last week that Ann Christianson, a social studies teacher and coordinator of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Jane Addams Middle School in Seattle, organized a card-writing campaign by students that included messages such as “Gay is slay, stop being a rat” “Grow up,” “Stop bullying and excluding LGBTQ youth and families,” “Say gay,” and “The oppressed are always the protagonists.”
Christianson introduced the package with her own message: “Dear Moms for Liberty, Please read the enclosed cards from concerned middle school students in Seattle.”

Many of the cards, amid the repeated rainbow imagery, included drawings of hearts that were spilt in two, indicating they were broken by Moms for Liberty’s efforts to keep pornographic materials out of school libraries and classrooms.
Moms for Liberty posted photos of the package on its account on X (formerly Twitter). “Seattle Public Schools are spending class time indoctrinating and weaponizing your children,” the group said in a post. “The building of the Red Guard in America.”
Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice, an Indian River County resident, told the Daily Signal in a statement, “Public school administrators should put our public taxpayer dollars towards fixing the abysmal reading scores in the U.S., rather than writing hate letters.
“Taxpayers spend over $18,000 per student every year on public education in the Seattle Public Schools. There is no world in which activism in schools is more important than the basic skills of reading and writing.”
The Daily Signal reported that Seattle Public Schools officials said the hate mail was part of an “independent activity” and not part of the regular school curriculum.
The school district did not say whether Christianson was punished. But it did support “LGBTQI students.
“Seattle Public Schools is dedicated to fostering welcoming, inclusive, and identity-safe environments for all our students,” the district said in its comments to the Daily Signal.
“We firmly uphold the rights of our students, staff, and families to express their authentic selves. We take great pride in our unwavering support for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families, which is reflected in our policies and everyday practices.”

The Daily Signal further noted that Seattle Public Schools considers the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource to guide its Department of Racial Equity Advancement.
As the outlet reported, the controversial SPLC has declared Moms for Liberty an “antigovernment extremist group” and part of an “anti-student inclusion movement” because the Moms have protested school materials that promote LGBTQ and Critical Race Theory, even to the youngest students.
The Daily Signal also reported that Moms for Liberty has received death threats since the SPLC included the group on its “hate map.”
The school district did not respond to questions about whether it views the SPLC’s attacks against Moms for Liberty as credible.
