The lies about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis just won’t stop. In this case, it was “The View,” from the alleged Republican on the left-wing panel no less.
On Thursday’s broadcast of the show, which in part discussed Florida’s recent objection to the first iteration of the College Board’s Advanced Placement African American Studies course, supposed conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized Florida’s Republican governor for “erasing” black history.
“What he’s doing is so absurd,” Griffin said.
“You’re literally talking about erasing history — not bringing in the theories, the theoreticals, and the college-level stuff. This is straight up saying, ‘We’re not going to learn about slavery. We’re not going to learn about the Civil War. That’s going dangerously far,” Griffin added.

This, as The Free Press reported last month, is an outright lie.
For one thing, Florida state law already requires the teaching of African American history in public schools, including slavery and the Civil War.
The actual law itself says the following instruction is mandated for public school students in Florida:
“The history of African Americans, including the history of African peoples before the political conflicts that led to the development of slavery, the passage to America, the enslavement experience, abolition, and the history and contributions of Americans of the African diaspora to society.”
Moreover, the law adds, “Students shall develop an understanding of the ramifications of prejudice, racism, and stereotyping on individual freedoms, and examine what it means to be a responsible and respectful person, for the purpose of encouraging tolerance of diversity in a pluralistic society and for nurturing and protecting democratic values and institutions.”
The law also says, “Instruction shall include the vital contributions of African Americans to build and strengthen American society and celebrate the inspirational stories of African Americans who prospered, even in the most difficult circumstances.”

A columnist at the conservative website Twitchy.com had an interesting take on the criticism of DeSantis by Griffin, Whoopi Goldberg, and the rest of “The View” crew.
A Twitchy writer who goes by “Sarah D.” argued that Griffin, Goldberg, and the rest, by criticizing DeSantis, are the opposite side of the “same coin” as former President Donald Trump.
“They and Trump are two sides of the same coin. They’re on the same team,” she wrote.
“The ladies of ‘The View,’ just like pretty much everyone in the mainstream media, desperately need Donald Trump in order to maintain any semblance of relevance,” Sarah D. wrote.
“Not one person in the past eight years has given them nearly as much material as Donald Trump has. They claim to hate him, but they’re obsessed with him. And they know that a Ron DeSantis presidential campaign would pose a huge threat to their golden goose, so they’re only too eager to latch onto Trump’s deranged crusade against DeSantis.”
“‘The View’ really is no better than Donald Trump. And you know what? They can have each other. Leave the rest of us out of it, please.”
