Earlier this month, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis cheered the rise of the Republican Party in the Sunshine State since he took office in 2019.

Since DeSantis was first elected, Republicans have gone from trailing Democrats among registered voters to a lead approaching 900,000.

“Prior to 2021, FL never had more registered Republicans than Democrats. Now, a million voter R registration advantage is within reach,” DeSantis tweeted on April 4.

“Hillsborough (Tampa) is about to flip from D to R, which will mean every county in the Tampa Bay market has an R advantage in this previously ‘swing’ region of the state.”

But the GOP ascendency is not just rocking in Florida.

Interactive Polls last week posted on X voter registration data from several swing states across the country since the November 2020 election.

The news was not good for Democrats.

For instance, Republicans in Pennsylvania trailed Democrats by about 686,000 voters in November 2020. Today, that gap is down to about 399,000.

In North Carolina, the Democrats’ advantage has dropped from about 391,000 to 171,000.

In Nevada, the Democrats’ lead has shrunk from about 87,000 to around 33,000.

Meanwhile, some red states just get redder.

In Iowa, for instance, the GOP lead grew from about 13,000 in 2020 to 148,000 now.

In West Virginia in 2021, the Republicans claimed about 26,000 more voters than Democrats. Now, the GOP’s lead is around 104,000.

In Arizona, the Republicans’ lead among voters has increased from about 140,000 in December 2021 to about 192,000 today.

In response to the numbers, conservative activist Scott Presler, who has traveled the country in recent years to lead voter-registration drives for the GOP, posted on X, “My heart sings.”
