ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Construction work is completed on a section of Morris Bridge Road in Zephyrhills, where a hole formed in late May.
The roadway is open to traffic. Some minor work will continue, but traffic flow will not be affected, according to Pasco County PIO Ryan Hughes.
Pasco County previously closed Morris Bridge Road between State Road 54 and Chancey Road as a safety precaution after a hole formed in the middle of the road.
Signs along Morris Bridge Road were directing drivers to alternate detour routes.

The affected area was about 4-feet wide and is in the middle of the northbound lane of Morris Bridge Road. The county worked with a geotechnical team to determine the stability of the roadway.
“We appreciate the community’s patience during the repairs,” said Pasco County in a statement.
