U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) has sent a letter to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Anne Milgram concerning the Biden administration’s process for descheduling marijuana.
This follows up on Administrator Milgram’s testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance on July 27th.
During the hearing, Administrator Milgram mentioned that President Biden had directed the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to begin the process of descheduling marijuana from its Schedule I classification. Congressman Gaetz is now seeking a copy of the letter from President Biden to HHS and DOJ.
