In recent years, the FBI has plotted against the campaign and presidency of Donald Trump, treated parents objecting to the indoctrination of their children as criminals, called devout Catholics domestic terrorists, failed to arrest those who harassed Supreme Court justices, and cooperated in squelching news stories inconvenient to the liberal narrative.

And despite all that, President Joe Biden is set to reward the agency.

The FBI is slated to get a new palace.

According to BisNow.com, Biden’s newly unveiled budget includes funding totaling $233 million a year for the next 15 years for a new FBI headquarters.

When combined with $645 million already allotted for the project, the FBI’s new HQ will cost taxpayers more than $4 billion, BisNow.com reported on Thursday.

The site is supposed to accommodate 7,500 employees. Politicians from Maryland and Virginia are lobbying the General Services Administration to put the facility in their state.

Biden’s plan arrived in Congress as Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Matt Gaetz of Florida have called attention to how the FBI has been weaponized against conservative Americans.

Gaetz, a Fort Walton Beach Republican, panned Biden’s plan in a message to his constituents on Sunday.

“Under Joe Biden, the American dream has turned into an American nightmare. The top items on Biden’s shopping list include funding countries entrenched in conflict and weaponizing federal agencies, while the interests of the American people are ignored,” Gaetz wrote in an email to his followers.

“It is a slap to the American taxpayer’s face when politicians authorize the construction of a new FBI headquarters, which just so happens to be larger than the Pentagon. One can only speculate about how much power Democrats will gain by choosing to construct a palace for a rogue government agency. Why is it acceptable for the Biden administration to purchase the FBI a huge new headquarters if it is unlawful for them to bribe FBI agents?”

“After being tasked with the responsibility of conducting transcribed interviews of FBI whistleblowers, it would be an understatement to say the Deep State is alive and well,” Gaetz continued.

“I’ve heard numerous witness testimonies concerning individuals the Biden Justice Department has targeted and smeared. Sadly, Democrats have now decided to double down, targeting those whom have testified against the Deep State’s shady investigative methods and weaponized FBI.”

The publication Government Executive recently noted that the federal government has been planning for a new FBI headquarters since at least 2011.

But Trump killed the project in July 2017, according to Government Executive, citing “escalating costs and financial constraints.” At the time, Congress was only willing to fund about 60% of the estimated $1.4 billion cost.

But showing his propensity to overspend on everything, Biden has not roughly tripled the original price tag.
