As the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine approaches, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz moves to end the war — for America.
Backed by ten other GOP lawmakers, the Fort Walton Beach Republican on Thursday filed a measure to end all U.S. aid to Ukraine.
Gaetz labeled his bill the “Ukraine Fatigue Resolution.” If passed, according to a press release from his office, the resolution would express through the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States must end its military and financial aid to Ukraine, and urges all combatants to reach a peace agreement.

“President Joe Biden must have forgotten his prediction from March 2022, suggesting that arming Ukraine with military equipment will escalate the conflict to ‘World War III.’ America is in a state of managed decline, and it will exacerbate if we continue to hemorrhage taxpayer dollars toward a foreign war,” Gaetz said in a statement.
“We must suspend all foreign aid for the War in Ukraine and demand that all combatants in this conflict reach a peace agreement immediately.”
Gaetz’s resolution notes that America is Ukraine’s biggest benefactor.
Since August 2021, President Joe Biden has dispatched 31 “draw downs” of U.S. military equipment to Ukraine, where Biden’s son, Hunter, once did business with oil oligarchs.
Since hostilities started nearly a year ago, the Democratic president has shipped more than $110 billion of taxpayer money to the Russia-Ukraine war, including another $2 billion installment announced last week.

Gaetz’s bill detailed all of the military equipment that the Defense Department has shipped to Ukraine.
the United States must end its military and eight financial aid to Ukraine, and 9 (2) the House of Representatives urges all combatants to reach a peace agreement.
Yet six months ago, Gaetz’s resolution noted, “Pentagon officials reported that United States munitions donated to Ukraine have severely depleted United States stockpiles, weakening United States readiness in the event of conflict.”
Within Ukraine, the measure added, the war has reportedly killed more than 40,000 civilians and created 7.8 million refugees.
Joining Gaetz in introducing the “Ukraine Fatigue resolution” were GOP Reps. Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Anna Paulina Luna of Clearwater, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Mary Miller of Illinois, Barry Moore of Alabama, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, and Matt Rosendale of Montana.
