Rep. Gaetz: Biden Is Leaning Into “Anti-Life” Policies In Desperate Distraction Attempt

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz argues that Democrats continue to show they’ve lost touch with the real concerns of everyday Americans.

Appearing on Newsmax earlier this week, the Fort Walton Beach Republican said the Democrats fail to connect with voters through their laser-like focus on abortion over the past few months, as capped by President Joe Biden’s recent pledge to make codifying Roe provisions into federal law the first thing he will do if his party keeps control of Congress.

Asked about a recent report that Democrats fear they’ve “peaked” too soon ahead of next month’s elections by hyping abortion, Gaetz noted, “Turns out, I think more Americans want a strong economy than want an abortion.”

“Each and every American family right now is feeling the pain of an economy that has left them behind,” Gaetz added.

And Biden doesn’t get that message, Gaetz added, as he is “wandering around the country with this silver alert presidency sucking on his ice cream cone.”

“There’s no escaping the fact that most of the voters do not believe that Joe Biden and these Democrats are capable of restoring the roaring Trump economy that allowed so many Americans to live more ambitious and productive lives.”

Gaetz said the Democrats’ problem is that what Biden pledges to enact is far different that what his base advocates for, which is abortion on demand “up until the point the doctor is filling out the birth certificate.”

“I don’t think people are going to be voting on abortion principally,” said Gaetz. “We’re seeing the economy, crime, the border consistently at the top of all the polling in all the major races.”

In a constituent mailer, Gaetz added, “People on the Left need to recognize that Joe Biden is a failed president. He is responsible for the current recession and continued decay of the American economy, the crisis at our southern border, the full dependence on other countries for energy, the Orwellian vaccine mandates, and the blatant disrespect of hard-working Americans by treating their tax dollars like Monopoly money.”

“Now, in an effort to resolve his failed presidency, Biden is promising Americans on-demand abortions to distract them from the real issues at hand. Without a border or a thriving economy, Joe Biden is leaning into anti-life policy proposals, which is unacceptable in the United States of America.”
