Last week, after Special Counsel John Durham released a report exonerating former President Donald Trump of allegations of colluding with Russia in 2016, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy asked how left-wing California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff was still in Congress after years of promoting the lie.
“Remember when he told the American people he had proof? Remember when he told them he didn’t know the whistleblower? And what he put Americans through? And openly lied to us?” McCarthy told reporters.
Durham’s report “raises a lot of questions about … his character, his standing inside of Congress. And whether he should even be in Congress.”

Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna responded.
Last week, she filed a one-sentence resolution calling for Schiff to be expelled from the House.
“Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intel to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives,” Luna tweeted along with a screenshot of her resolution.
According to The Floridian, she added on social media, “Knowingly using your position on House Intel [the House Intelligence Committee, which Schiff once chaired] to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham Report coming out makes you unfit for office.”
Luna also called for an investigation by the House Ethics Committee.

Durham’s report disclosed that the Russia-collusion narrative was a hoax, perpetrated by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Clinton’s team used a third party and submitted phony intelligence about Trump’s involvement with the Kremlin to the FBI, which launched the Operation Crossfire Hurricane investigation without vetting any of the information. Durham wrote that the probe should never have been opened.
