Get ready to cast your lines! The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is hosting its annual license-free freshwater fishing weekend on April 5 and 6, offering anglers of all ages a perfect opportunity to enjoy Florida’s abundant freshwater fishing opportunities.
Whether you prefer casting from the shoreline or dropping a line from your boat, this weekend provides a fantastic chance to explore the state’s diverse freshwater ecosystems without needing a fishing license.
For those new to fishing or looking for a refresher, the FWC’s fishing basics webpage offers valuable tips and information. Remember, while the license requirement is waived, all other fishing regulations, including seasons, bag, and size limits, remain in effect.
