Red Tide Remains At Background Levels In Florida

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) reports low levels of the red tide organism, Karenia brevis, in Florida waters.

Over the past week, background concentrations were observed in one sample from Manatee County on the Southwest Coast and one sample from Flagler County on the East Coast. No fish kills or respiratory irritation related to red tide were reported.

Satellite imagery is being used to monitor nearshore and offshore conditions. Forecasts predict minimal movement of red tide in most areas over the next few days.
