ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rays have made a trade with the New York Mets, acquiring right-handed pitcher Eric Orze in exchange for outfielder Jose Siri.
Orze, 27, made his Major League debut last season with the Mets. He boasts a strong track record in the minors, with a 4.04 ERA and 301 strikeouts over 150 appearances.

Siri, 29, played 130 games for the Rays last season, hitting .187 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs. He was known for his defensive prowess, leading the Rays with 12 game-winning RBIs and ranking second among MLB outfielders with 17 outs above average.
The trade provides the Rays with pitching depth while the Mets gain a defensively strong outfielder.
