PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Lifts Mandatory Evacuation Order for Zones A, B & C **Voluntary evacuations order in effect due to river flooding

Pasco County Emergency Management has lifted the mandatory evacuation order for Evacuation Zones A, B and C and mobile homes. Residents are now welcome to return home. Please use caution heading back into the storm-damaged areas, as recovery efforts are ongoing.

Due to historic river flooding associated with Hurricane Milton, Pasco County is recommending voluntary evacuations in the following locations:

  • Elfers
  • Cypress Creek at Worthington Gardens
  • Thousand Oaks

 Everyone in low-lying areas or areas prone to flooding

These shelters will remain open to assist anyone needing a place to stay:

  • Fasano Regional Hurricane Center, 11611 Denton Avenue, Hudson *(Special Needs Only)  River Ridge Middle and High Schools, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey

PREVIOUS RRPORTING: Pasco County is bracing for the potential impact of Hurricane Milton, and authorities are urging residents to take the threat seriously and prepare for potential disruptions.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is diligently monitoring the storm’s progress and providing updates from the National Hurricane Center. With Pasco County currently under a Hurricane Watch, mandatory evacuations have been issued for vulnerable areas.

In anticipation of the storm’s arrival, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to communicate their hurricane plans with family and friends. It’s crucial to inform loved ones of your whereabouts and how to reach you before the storm hits, ensuring everyone’s safety and peace of mind.

To assist residents in their preparations, Pasco County is providing access to shelters and sandbag locations. Heeding evacuation orders and taking proactive steps to protect life and property are of utmost importance.

For those needing sandbags, several self-serve locations are available throughout the county. Remember to bring your own shovel to fill the sandbags efficiently. Magnolia Valley Golf Course and Pasco County Public Works C-Barn are open 24/7, while other locations, including Mitchell Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Fire Station-29, Land O’ Lakes Recreation Center, J. Ben Harrill Recreation Complex, and the former Dade City Police Department building, operate from sunrise to sunset.

If you require shelter, several options are available, all of which welcome pets. These include Centennial Middle School, Fivay High School, River Ridge Middle and High Schools, Wesley Chapel High School, and Sunlake High School. The Fasano Regional Hurricane Center is also open specifically for those with special needs.

To facilitate safe travel to shelters, Pasco County Public Transportation is offering free rides on their regular routes until 2 p.m. Tuesday. For any assistance or inquiries, residents can contact Pasco County Customer Service at 727-847-2411.

Mandatory evacuations have been issued for specific zones and vulnerable populations. These include Evacuation Zones A, B, and C, all manufactured homes, mobile homes, and RVs, low-lying areas prone to flooding, structures with a history of flooding, and any other areas designated by local authorities.

Voluntary evacuations are in place for registered Special Needs residents and individuals who may be vulnerable in the event of a power outage.
