E-Scooter Rider Fatally Struck By PSTA Bus In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A tragic accident this morning claimed the life of an e-scooter rider in St. Petersburg. At approximately 11:00 a.m., a PSTA bus collided with the individual operating the scooter at the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and the Pinellas Trail.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but they were unfortunately pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No injuries were sustained by the 10 passengers aboard the bus, nor by the bus driver.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash. Further information will be released to the public as it becomes available.
