In March, Masvidal campaigned with Governor DeSantis at an event in Miami.

“It takes a fighter to know a fighter.

“And Ron DeSantis, he’s the real thing.

“He fights for you. He fights for our kids. He fights for our freedom.

“That’s Governor DeSantis, and he doesn’t tap out.

“He protects our livelihood and gives kids a chance.

“He’s doing the right thing in Florida and we’re on to way greater things.

“We need Governor Ron DeSantis… fighting for Florida to keep us free.”

Jorge Masvidal was born and raised in Miami. His father left communist Cuba as a teenager in a self-made raft ending up in the Virgin Islands.

Born to a Cuban father and a Peruvian mother, Masvidal is an American mixed martial artist competing in the welterweight division of the UFC.
