The social media team behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a message to President Joe Biden after announcing his re-election bid.
Don’t.
Responding to the beginning of Biden’s quest for a second term — in which he promised to “finish the job” — the Twitter account DeSantis War Room replied, “70% of Americans agree — our country is going in the wrong direction. We don’t want Biden to finish the job.”

The post then featured some of the lowlights of Biden’s first 27 months in office, using video clips from news broadcasts.
The clips included commentators discussing the country being in recession, rapidly rising rates of violent crime, out of control illegal immigration, and inflation hitting historic highs.
“You know what, Joe,” the voiceover says with a clip of Biden falling up the stairs of Air Force One, “we’d rather you not finish the job.”
DeSantis has not declared as of yet.
During an overseas trip this week, the Republican governor, after a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, was asked about a possible showdown in the GOP primary with former President Donald Trump.

“I’m not a candidate, so we’ll see if and when that changes,” DeSantis replied.
The Republican-dominated Florida Legislature is moving closer to making that a reality.
Lawmakers this week moved closer to changing Florida’s “resign-to-run” law that requires elected officials seeking another office to resign their current office first. A GOP bill would exempt anyone in office who is running for president or vice president.
