On his first day back in office, President Donald J. Trump wasted no time in delivering on his campaign promises, signing a sweeping series of executive orders aimed at reshaping key policies across energy, immigration, government efficiency, and national security.

Trump, who was sworn in earlier today as the 47th President of the United States, declared, “Promises made, promises kept,” as he signed orders reversing Biden-era policies and introducing aggressive new measures to advance his America First agenda.

Fulfilling his pledge to restore energy independence, President Trump signed an executive order declaring a national energy emergency, unlocking domestic production and reversing restrictions imposed by the previous administration. Trump also terminated the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate and reauthorized drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), signaling a major shift in energy policy.

“We’re unlocking America’s full energy potential and cutting costs for families across the nation,” Trump stated, adding that his administration aims to reduce energy prices by 50% within a year.

Among the immediate actions taken:

  • Withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord.
  • Suspension of offshore wind projects.
  • Rollback of regulatory policies limiting oil and gas development.

As promised, President Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border, signing an executive order to halt illegal crossings and reinstate stricter immigration controls. The administration moved swiftly to revoke Biden-era immigration policies, including the controversial CBP One app used to schedule border appointments.

Additionally, Trump signed orders to:

  • Resume construction of the border wall.
  • Reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers.
  • Designate international cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
  • Deploy military forces to assist with border security.

“We’re taking the strongest action in history to shut down the border and protect American families from crime and drugs,” Trump declared.

In line with his pledge to streamline government operations and reduce waste, President Trump issued an order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aimed at cutting bureaucratic waste and eliminating redundant federal programs.

Federal workers were ordered to return to in-person work, with Trump stating that remote work policies had weakened government effectiveness. He also signed orders to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across all federal agencies and make it easier to remove underperforming government employees.

“We’re bringing accountability back to Washington and ensuring that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely,” Trump said.

Trump’s executive actions extended beyond domestic policy to reassert American leadership on the world stage. His administration reintroduced the “America First” trade policy and ordered a review of foreign aid to ensure it aligns with U.S. interests.

Among the notable moves was his directive to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” and reinstate the name Mount McKinley, reversing decisions made during the Obama administration.

“America is back, and we are reclaiming our national identity and pride,” Trump declared.

President Trump also took steps to address social and cultural policies. In a widely anticipated move, he signed an order mandating that the federal government recognize only two genders, male and female, and pledged to restore the death penalty for drug dealers and human traffickers.

“We’re bringing back common sense and restoring the values that made America great,” he said.

With a flurry of executive actions already in motion, Trump’s team has indicated that more policies will be rolled out in the coming weeks. The administration is expected to focus on further deregulation efforts, economic stimulus measures, and reinforcing national security.

“And he’s just getting started,” a White House spokesperson stated, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to following through on Trump’s promises to the American people.

As the nation watches, Trump’s Day One actions set the stage for a presidency determined to leave an immediate impact, with supporters praising the swift execution of his campaign pledges and critics preparing for legal and political challenges ahead.
