President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will declare a national emergency and use military assets to implement his mass deportation plan.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump responded “True!!!” to a claim by Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, who stated that the incoming Trump administration is “prepared to declare a national emergency and use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program.”
Public support for deporting undocumented immigrants has increased since Donald Trump’s previous term, according to recent polling and Trump’s overwhelming landslide election victory.
Mass deportations were a central promise of Trump’s 2024 campaign, and his allies have already started planning how to implement these actions.

With an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the U.S., Trump’s plans could impact approximately 20 million families nationwide. Immigration advocates and legal experts are gearing up for court battles to challenge the expected sweeping measures.
Trump’s transition team is reportedly working to draft executive orders that can withstand legal scrutiny, aiming to avoid the setbacks experienced during his first term, such as the legal defeat of the Muslim travel ban.
The incoming administration’s plans also include ending the parole program for undocumented immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, according to Politico.

Trump is already filling key Cabinet positions with staunch immigration hardliners, signaling a tough stance on border enforcement. He has selected Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as his new “border czar.”
Additionally, Trump has nominated South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to serve as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), reinforcing his commitment to a hardline immigration policy.
