FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced Wednesday that President Biden has authorized additional disaster assistance for Florida to aid in recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene, which impacted the state starting on Sept. 23, 2024.
Biden increased the federal cost share from 75% to 100% for the first 90 days of the recovery period.

This enhancement follows the major disaster declaration that provides federal funding for Individual Assistance, Public Assistance in designated counties, and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program statewide.
