Tampa Begins Post-Milton Recovery: Residents Urged To Stay Indoors, Report Damage Online

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Residents of Hillsborough County who have been financially impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton can now pre-register for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits.

To pre-register, visit the online portal by Friday, November 15th, at 11:59 PM.

Once pre-registered, residents will need to complete a phone interview based on their last name:

  • A-F: Tuesday, November 12th
  • G-N: Wednesday, November 13th
  • O-Z: Thursday, November 14th
  • All Last Names: Friday, November 15th

D-SNAP Eligibility:

To be eligible for D-SNAP, you must:

  • Not be currently receiving regular SNAP benefits.
  • Have been a resident of Hillsborough County during the hurricanes.
  • Have experienced disaster-related losses, such as damage to your home, loss of food, reduced income, or other related expenses.
  • Meet specific financial eligibility requirements.

D-SNAP Benefits:

Eligible recipients will receive an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card to purchase food at authorized retailers. Please note that EBT cards cannot be used for alcohol, tobacco, or non-food items.
