The Powerball jackpot has once again surpassed the $1 billion mark, creating a frenzy of excitement across the nation.
Just a week after a lucky ticketholder in New Jersey walked away with a staggering $1.128 billion jackpot from a Mega Millions ticket, the Powerball prize has now reached an estimated $1.09 billion.
This incredible jackpot is the fourth-largest in Powerball history and the ninth-largest in the history of all U.S. lotteries.

The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing on Monday, April 1, were 19, 24, 40, 42, and 56. The Powerball number was 23, and the Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Although there were no jackpot winners or Match 5 + Power Play $2 million winners in this drawing, over 2.1 million tickets won cash prizes, including six tickets that matched five numbers and won $1 million each.
The lucky winners came from Florida, Maryland (2), Minnesota, North Carolina, and Virginia.
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3. Powerball drawings take place three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.

The last time the Powerball jackpot exceeded $1 billion was on October 11, 2023. A winning ticket was sold in California, and the lucky winner took home a mind-boggling $1.765 billion. This historic jackpot remains the second-largest in Powerball history.
