HUDSON, Fla. – A 13-year-old girl from Hudson was injured this afternoon after being struck by a car while crossing the street near a stopped school bus. The incident occurred around 3:05 PM at the intersection of East Road and Kodiak Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Pasco County school bus was stopped northbound on East Road, offloading students with its lights activated.

A Mercury sedan, driven by a 59-year-old Port Richey man, was traveling southbound on East Road and failed to stop for the school bus.
The driver collided with the 13-year-old girl as she was crossing the highway. The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No word yet on any charges filed against the driver.
