Port Richey Man Killed In Fiery Crash After Colliding With A Tree And Home In Brooksville

A 57-year-old Port Richey man has died in a crash that happened around 11:50 am on Wednesday.

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old Port Richey man has died in a crash that happened around 11:50 am on Wednesday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius westbound on Fulton Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve in the roadway.

Troopers say the car departed the roadway, struck an embankment, and became airborne before colliding with a tree.

The impact to the tree caused the vehicle to rotate before colliding with a home located at 10259 Fulton Avenue.

Troopers say when the car crashed into the home, the vehicle caught fire.

The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash which caused extensive damage to the
residence.

The home was occupied by a male and female who were uninjured during the incident.
