MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old Pompano Beach man, Travis John Hanna, was arrested on Friday for his involvement in a reckless driving incident in Marathon that occurred in June 2024.
Hanna faces multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, fleeing and eluding causing serious bodily injury, reckless driving, DUI, and several counts of DUI causing property damage.

According to reports, witnesses observed Hanna driving a Mercedes recklessly into oncoming traffic in Marathon. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies witnessed him speeding at 90 mph and illegally passing other vehicles.
Hanna’s dangerous driving resulted in a collision with a Kia sedan and a Ford SUV. The Kia’s driver sustained injuries and was transported to Fishermen’s Hospital.

Hanna’s vehicle also collided with a utility pole and a traffic sign. Deputies noted the smell of alcohol on Hanna, and a search of his vehicle revealed numerous empty alcohol containers.
Hanna was injured in the crash and airlifted to a Miami hospital. Warrants were issued for his arrest, and he was finally apprehended and booked into jail on Friday.
