Perhaps it’s no surprise, but former supporters of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ bid for the White House did not hesitate to gravitate to former President Donald Trump once their guy dropped out.

The Western Journal reported on Tuesday that polls taken after DeSantis exited the Republican presidential primary revealed that support for Trump surged.

One poll by Suffolk University, NBC10 Boston, and the Boston Globe that was released Monday had Trump at 57% and Haley at 38%.

Each one was up two points from the previous poll, taken while DeSantis was still a candidate.

The poll offered one more look on Tuesday, showing Trump at 60% and Haley still at 38%.

Meanwhile, a second voter survey offered Tuesday by the pollster Insider Advantage revealed that Trump led Haley 62-35.

Insider Advantage noted that Trump gained 12 points from the firm’s last poll taken in Iowa last week.

Western Journal also noted that the RealClearPolitics average of all polls as of Sunday, when DeSantis was still a candidate, indicated Trump was at 50.3%, with Haley at 34 percent.

As of Tuesday, RCP put Trump at 56% and Haley at 36%.

The Tampa Free Press reported on Tuesday that conservative pollster Jim McLaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates, which has been affiliated with former President Donald Trump, predicted on Monday that DeSantis supporters in New Hampshire would break for Trump by a 2-1 margin.

Trump defeated Haley 54-45, according to the Associated Press.

But she was buoyed by non-Republicans who showed up in droves to reject Trump.

As the Free Press reported, 70% of Haley’s voters were not actually registered Republicans prior to Election Day.
