President Joe Biden and Former President Trump

Poll: Majority Of Republicans, Independents And Nearly One-Third Of Democrats Don’t Think Biden Is In Charge

Former President Donald Trump recently argued that his successor was not in charge of his own administration.

As The Free Press reported last month, Trump told podcaster Dave Rubin that “a group of people” was running the show in the White House, and not President Joe Biden. “I don’t think it’s Biden, frankly, and in many ways, I wish it were because that’s the way it’s supposed to be,” Trump said.

Now, as Biden’s gaffes, creepy whispering, puzzling devotion to ice cream over policy, and general cluelessness become more evident, more voters are starting to see Trump’s point.

A new poll of 1,086 likely 2022 voters reveals that 56.5 percent of them think Biden “is not fully executing the duties of his office.” Only 36.4 percent of respondents told pollsters they believe Biden is “directing all policy and agenda.”

As might be expected, Republicans overwhelmingly agree that Biden is a bystander in his own presidency. On that issue, 83.6 percent of GOP voters agreed.

Yet perhaps more surprising is that 31.7 percent of Democrats and 58.4 percent of independents also believe someone else is directing Biden’s agenda.

The Trafalgar Group, which conducted the survey, noted that Republicans comprised just 35.6 percent of those polled. And a clear majority – 53.3 percent – were women.

When broken down by age, a majority of each demographic believes Biden is simply a figurehead. Those who felt most strongly about that were the young, as 65.5 percent of respondents 18 to 24 thought “others” were in charge.

Along gender lines, 53.9 percent of women and 59.3 percent of men agreed that Biden is not piloting the ship of state.

When considering race, whites (62.4 percent) and Hispanics (58.4 percent) believed most strongly that Biden is being led, while blacks (68.5 percent) and Asians (58.6 percent) think he is the leader in the Oval Office.

In commenting on the poll over the weekend, Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted, “It’s hard to believe there have ever been numbers like that in American history about the president.”

“What do they tell us? They tell us is that media storyline – Joe Biden’s fine; he’s just got a really bad stutter, so relax – isn’t actually convincing anyone. But not for lack of trying.”

What poll? Done by whom? When? Are these not things the free press feels are relevant?
