President Joe Biden is now nine points behind former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state that the Democrat won in 2020. That’s according to a poll issued on Wednesday.
According to an Emerson College survey, Trump defeated Biden 45% to 36% among Pennsylvania voters, with 11% selecting someone else and 8% being undecided. In one of the closest election victories in the nation, Biden defeated the outgoing president in 2020 by a margin of 50% to 48.8%, whereas Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by 1.2 points in 2016.
According to the survey, 31% of Pennsylvanians approved of Biden and 51% disapproved.

According to a different recent Quinnipiac University survey, Trump was leading Biden by 2 points among Pennsylvania voters and 48% to 39% among independents.
Recent polls show that in crucial swing states like Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan, Trump leads Biden. According to a mid-September Reuters/Ipsos poll, Trump leads Biden 41% to 35% in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The current RealClearPolitics (RCP) average has Trump ahead of Biden by 1 point. Based on the most current polling, the RCP average for a national Republican and Democratic primary in 2024 indicates that Trump and Biden are leading their respective fields with 57.7% and 61.3%, respectively.

According to an Emerson College survey, Democratic incumbent Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania has an 8-point advantage over Republican challenger David McCormick, who recently entered the race. Of those surveyed, 8% said they would support someone else and 18% said they were uncertain. Additionally, 35% of voters approved of Democratic governor Josh Shapiro, while 27% disapproved and 39% were neutral.
With a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7%, 430 Pennsylvania voters were questioned for the Emerson College poll between October 1 and October 4.
