POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Polk Sheriff’s Charities is hosting a free turkey giveaway on Saturday, November 23, 2024, to help families in need during the holiday season.

“For the seventh year in a row, we are blessed to be able to provide turkeys to our citizens, thanks to the generous donations made year-round to Polk Sheriff’s Charities,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “We’re so grateful to the volunteers at the Freedom Tour for the use of their refrigerated trucks and for their food donations as well. It is so heartwarming to work with such a generous group of men and women and to be able to make a positive difference in others’ lives.”

The giveaway will take place at three locations across Polk County:

  • East Polk: Church on the Hill, 1111 Scenic Hwy, Dundee (9:00 AM – 10:30 AM)
  • Central Polk: Lake Region High School campus, 1995 Thunder Road, Eagle Lake (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
  • West Polk: Lakes Church (Church at the Mall), 1010 East Memorial Blvd, Lakeland (1:00 PM – 2:30 PM)

Turkeys will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with no pre-registration or identification required. Up to 1,200 turkeys will be available.

The Polk Sheriff’s Charities is partnering with The Freedom Tour to make this event possible.
