HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old Mulberry woman, Jaquelin Lopez Velasquez, has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on November 16, 2024 in Wimauma.
The crash involved a red Dodge Charger that struck a 19-year-old bicyclist on SR-674 near 4th Street. The bicyclist, who was traveling eastbound, was fatally injured in the collision.

Following a tip from Crime Stoppers, authorities were able to identify Velasquez as the driver of the vehicle. She surrendered herself to the Florida Highway Patrol on Monday, November 25th.
Velasquez has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death and booked into the Hillsborough County jail.
