POLK COUNTY, Fla. – In a dramatic series of events in Haines City, Florida, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended three individuals, including a couple wanted on felony vandalism charges in Virginia and a local resident with an outstanding warrant. The arrests involved a brief struggle and threats against law enforcement.
Polk County deputies were called to Haines City to apprehend two individuals, Lazaro Gilberto Bell Rodriguez (27) and Sabrina Castaneda (21), wanted on felony vandalism charges in Henrico County, Virginia. The couple allegedly caused extensive damage and flooded a hotel room at a Red Roof Inn.

Upon arriving at their residence, deputies arrested Lazaro. Though he claimed his wife was out of town, she was spotted inside the house and also arrested.
A third individual, Javier Jimenez Romero (31), was found in the residence and discovered to have a felony retail theft warrant from Brevard County.
When deputies attempted to arrest Romero, he resisted, pushing them and trying to flee. Even after being handcuffed, he threatened the deputies.
All three were taken into custody.
Romero faces additional charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting without violence, and resisting with violence.
