POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will hold a news conference today, Tuesday, September 17th, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the outcomes of a multi-month operation targeting violent gangs in Polk County.

The Violent Gang Investigative Task Force (VGITF), formed in February 2023, has been working to disrupt and dismantle gang activity in the area.

Sheriff Judd will provide details about the investigation, including arrests made and firearms seized during the operation. Visual displays and seized weapons will be available for viewing at the news conference.
