POLK COUNTY, Fla. – There has been a prowler in the northeast part of Polk County known as the Four Corners area, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office. He has been spotted in the neighborhoods along US Hwy 27 (between I-4 and US Hwy 192).
Early Monday morning a Lieutenant spotted the furry prowler and caught him on video. The neighborhoods on the west side of US Hwy 27 in this area are right up against the Green Swamp.
When it comes to wild animals, always keep your distance. If you see a wild animal near a residential area, contact the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission (FWC) at 1-888-404-FWCC (3922), cell phone users can call *FWC. Of course, if there is a dangerous situation with the animal, call 911 immediately.
