POLK COUNTY, Fla. – What began as a dispute over a parking space at a school bus stop escalated into an alleged battery on Monday morning, resulting in the arrest of a Davenport woman. The incident occurred around 8:15 am at the intersection of Osceola-Polk County Line Road and Loblolly Lane.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), the victim stated she was waiting for her grandchild’s school bus when a verbal argument erupted with the suspect. The victim reported that parking issues at the bus stop had been an ongoing problem for the past two months.

However, Monday’s confrontation allegedly turned physical. The victim told deputies that the suspect leaned through her driver’s side window and battered her in the neck area. The alleged attack resulted in visible bruises to the victim’s neck and collar.
Following an investigation, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Joan Mojica Casado of Davenport. PCSO confirmed that Mojica Casado admitted to the altercation.
Deputies took Mojica Casado into custody without incident and transported her to the Polk County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office noted with irony that “there was no issue with the parking there.”

Joan Mojica Casado has been charged with Burglary with Battery in connection with the incident.
