POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk County man has been arrested for illegal dumping after his discarded trash led detectives straight to his door.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a recent string of illegal dumping incidents in the Davenport/Four Corners area when they discovered a clue amongst the debris: a discarded arrest affidavit belonging to 39-year-old Walter Castro Jr.

Detectives paid Castro a visit at his residence in the Palm Key Village mobile home park, conveniently located adjacent to the dumping site. Castro admitted to dumping his garbage in the area, claiming he didn’t realize it was a serious offense.
However, illegal dumping is a felony in Florida, and Castro was promptly arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail.
